I knew I wanted to trick-or-treat with my friend Lydia this year, so we decided we would dress up in coordinating costumes. We have been watching a lot of old sitcoms from the 80s and 90s recently, one day when we were watching the Punky Brewster show we had a light bulb moment and decided that we would go as Punky Brewster and Cherie Johnson!
Here we are on Halloween ready to start collecting candy.
We got a lot of complements on our costumes. A few people asked what we were dressed up as, but it seemed like they were asking everyone, even a little girl dressed up as a cat, so we decided they were just trying to make conversation.
After we were done collecting candy we were cold and happy to go back to my house to warm up. Look at all the candy I collected.
Once we were warm again we sat down to sort our candy. We each picked out our favorites and put them back in our buckets, then we traded the types we like, with the ones that we don’t like as much so we both ended up with the candy we like best.
Sometimes it is good when your friends like different things than you, especially when candy is involved.
After Lydia went home my parents told me they had a surprise for me, but I would have to trade most of my candy to get it.
After they promised me I would like the surprise, and if I didn’t I could trade back I agreed.
I am glad I agreed to trade because my surprise was the special Halloween Lalaloopsy I had been visiting and asking for every time we went to the store. I guess this is what they meant when the replied to my begging with “we’ll see.”
While I was looking at my new doll my kitty decided to investigate my candy. After I chased him out of the candy bucket my parents reminded me that I had to get up for school the next day and it was past my bed time. I was sad I had to go to bed, I had a great night and didn’t want it to end.
